- Ahmad Shah Masood’s mausoleum: Ahmad Shah is the national hero of Afghanistan. His mausoleum is located on a top of a hill overlooking at a beautiful valley. (below the picture of the mausoleum, and the beautiful valley)
- Lese Malali: it was a nice experience to visit the school where my mother taught Mathematics to the senior classes. The school is huge, and is filled with green trees. There are also two or three large basketball and volleyball grounds. This school was founded in 1942! (I didn’t find a picture of the school, but the following is Istiqlal High school, and the buildings somewhat resemble Malali’s buildings)
- Kabul University: the best of all experiences was to visit the university where my parents had studied. It’s so huge and green! We saw the tree under which my mom and her friends sat and read books, and the cafeteria where my dad sat with his friends and chatted.
- River Sawlang: I recommend everybody to visit this place. It’s my top favorite place in Afghanistan. I just want to mention that you have to be a little careful, because many died in this place because of either heavy snow, or because their car just fell over the river. But don’t worry; this place is totally worth taking the risk! (ok, I admit it not THAT risky, but it is good to be careful) (below is a picture of the river, and the famous Salang tunnel)
gorgeous photos, thanks for sharing them!
